The Ring is the first thriller movie that make me scray. This movie is all about Rachel Keller is a journalist investigating a videotape that may have killed four teenagers (including her niece). There is an urban legend about this tape: the viewer will die seven days after watching it. If the legend is correct, Rachel will have to run against time to save her son's and her own life. She and her divorced husband, Noah, research about the video and find facts about Anna Morgan and her daughter, Samara Morgan, the maker of this video. With only a week left, Rachel and Noah discover the unknown secrets of the life of Samara Morgan, and, hopefully for them, a way to break the curse. There are few lessons that we can get from this movie which are we have to take a risk whenever it is bad or good, then we should solve the problems not run from it and do not easily give up.
The first lesson, we have to take a risk whenever it is bad or good. In this movie we can see that Katie’s friend had watched the videotape then she told that who was watching the video wiil die in seven days.In this case we know that the videotape will harm other person.So we should not give anyone to watch it. It clearly shows that Becca, Katie’s friend ask to watch the videotape so that she can let herself from died. This is not a right action to make your own escape from the misfortune.
The second lesson from this movie is we should not run from the problems. We have to face it. In this case we can see that Rachel tried to find out the mysterious of the videotape within 7 days. She also investigate what actually happen for those who died after watched the videotape.What we can get that,we should handle our problems properly.All problems have their own solutions.
The last but not least, we should not easily give up. In this movie we can see that Rachel finally discover all mysterious that happen to her family. She almost killed while she is let to where Samara was killed; at the bottom of a well. Rachel gets stuck in the well and finds Samara's body. Samara, or at any rate, the not-completely-dead body of Samara, shows Rachel how her mother took her to the well and dropped her there. At the end Rachel notifies the authorities, and the now apparently dead Samara is given a proper burial, presumably putting her spirit to rest. This shows that we have to find out and do not easily give up if anything happen badly to us.
In conclusion, although this is a thriller movie, we can get useful lessons that needed in our daily life which are we have to take a risk whenever it is bad or good, then we should solve the problems not run from it and do not easily give up. I think this is the only one horror movie that I can collect it’s moral values and the storyline is very good. This movie totally different from other horror movie.
