Movie Review: Qabil Khushry Qabil Igam

Qabil Khushry Qabil Igam, which is an adaptation from Hindi film, Kabhi Khushi Kabie Gham is a Malay movie directed by Zaili Sulan. This movie is a story about non-identical twins, Khushry acted by Hans Isaac and Igam starred by Rusdi Ramli. Khushry loves his brother, Igam so much as they shared joys, moments and secrets together. However, a destructive indulgence by Igam brings havoc to the families the day before their joint wedding. Igam spent his night at police lock-up on his wedding day which disappoint his future bride,Karisma (starred by Erra Fazira) but she still wait for Igam to back. There are lessons in this film that we should highlight. There are about love, obedience and loyalty.

First lesson we can learn from this movie is about love. The value of love can be seen throughout the entire of this film. Love is the emotion of strong affection and personal attachment.Love is considering and honoring others.  Love varies in different types of feeling such as love towards parents, family, friends and towards a special person. We should appreciate one’s loves before the one we love disappear from our life. The love between family members tied by a strong bond that can not be separated by anything as shown by the character of Khushry and Igam. Love is a gift from God which makes someone feel appreciated.
The other lesson that we should highlight in this film is about the obedience towards parents. This film stress us about the respect towards parents and we should not object what they have said or when they ask us to do anything. We should obey any commands, restrictions, wishes, or instructions from our parents. Most religion put parents in the high place shows that parents words is an instruction. For example, in this movie, Karisma had to marry other guy chosen by her parents in order to cover the dignity of her family.
Last but not least, the third lesson we have to learn from this sad-ending movie is about the loyalty. To be loyal is to always be there for someone through thick and thin. The value of loyalty is clearly seen in this film by the character of Rani who is loyal to Khushry until they get married. Rani always support his husband and never hate Igam although her sister lived in misery after she is forced to marry a bad-tempered guy.  In my opinion, it is really something hard to find someone to trust because without trust there is no loyalty Thus, loyalty is the essential quality that we should own.
In a nutshell, love is unconditional. We should show respect to the elders especially towards our parents. On the other hand, we have to be a loyal person which can built a quality in our personality. There are a lot of values we can learn while enjoying movies because inside the story, there are moral values that we should take as example.
